Abhinav Bindra, the first Olympics individual gold medallist from India, kept a low profile on Saturday on reaching his home near Zirakpur town in Punjab in a sports utility vehicle that was escorted by two Mercedes cars.
At his arrival around 9.30 am, he stayed away from the media persons waiting for his return outside his farmhouse close to Chandigarh.
Some journalists tried to talk to him when he lowered the window of his car, but his car immediately entered the mammoth gates of Bindra Farms.
There was a festival like atmosphere at his home and the entrance gate was decorated by flowers to welcome the shooting star.
"The electronic media personnel and their outdoor broadcast vans are stationed outside the farm since 4 a.m. There is a heavy rush and we have strict instructions to not allow any one to go inside without a prior appointment," said a security guard posted outside Bindra Farms.
