Jagdish Singh Bhola, the prime accused in the Punjab drug racket case, is being treated like a VIP by the police. Or is it?
As he was brought to local court here in SAS Nagar on Friday by the Patiala police, Bhola alighted from a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire while the other accused in the case were brought in a normal police van.
Moreover, as Bhola reached the court complex at around 11am but had to wait for the case was delayed till 3pm, he sat in the AC-fitted car to escape the hot weather, while the other accused, all handcuffed, waited in the court complex.
Many who noticed the special treatment to Bhola were seen discussing it and clicking pictures of the car in which Bhola was seated along with police officials.
Bhola was brought to the court by SHO Patran (Patiala) Aman Pal Singh.
Singh told HT: "We were on duty to take Bhola separately to the court and since another police van was not available we had to take him in a private vehicle. Also, it was me who was feeling hot and sat inside the car with AC on…but we couldn't have left Bhola out, so he sat inside as well".
