Chief judicial magistrate Rajesh Garg, on Saturday, sent the two murder accused in two-day police custody.

The police had sought their five-day police remand for custodial interrogation to recover the jewellery and cash stolen from the shop. The police told the court that their accomplice was still at large and to establish his whereabouts, their custodial interrogation was necessary. The court has asked the police to get the accused medically examined before interrogating them.

According to the police, Kailash Chand was shot from point-blank range with a countrymade weapon.
The two accused entered inside the shop and robbed the gold chain of Kailash. When Madan and Tilak intervened, they stabbed Madan and opened fire. One hit Madan and another hit Tilak.

Madan was declared brought dead in GMSH-16 and injured Tilak is still admitted in PGI. While investigating the case, police recovered three cartridges, including a live one, and a magazine from the spot.

The body of Kailash was handed over to his family members after a postmortem examination was conducted in GMSH-16 on Friday. Doctors have sent the bullet for forensic examination at CFSL in Sector 36.

The deceased is survived by wife and three children. Police have been examining the CCTV footage installed outside the house situated near the provisional store as well as cameras installed at the Aroma light point, the ISBT-17 roundabout, the Sector 22-23 light point and Kisan Bhawan.
