A man died on Saturday at a private hospital in Hisar, after nearly two months of his father throwing acid on him and his brother.

A resident of Jamalpur village in Bhiwani, 33-year-old Virendra was undergoing treatment since July 30 when his ex-serviceman father in a fit of rage threw inverter's battery acid on him and his brother Ravinder.

Accused Balwant Singh, 60, had taken the step after his sons demanded jewellery that he had kept in his possession for the past three years.

Both of them had suffered up to 45% burn injuries on the upper body parts.
As Ravinder recovered fast, he was discharged from the hospital but Virendra lost the battle of life on Saturday.

Meanwhile, police reached the hospital and seized the body.

"We have handed over Virendra's body to his family. We have already arrested the accused who is an undertrial prisoner. Now, we will book him for murder in Virendra's death case and an attempt to murder in Ravinder's case," said Virender Nain, station house officer of Bawani Khera.

During investigations, accused Balwant had told the police that his sons were in a bad company and wasted the family money in sorcery and empiricism.
