UT deputy commissioner Mohammed Shayin has issued orders prohibiting the use of firecrackers between 10pm to 6am and in the silence zone, which comprise Sector 1 -Capital Complex, including Rajendra Park and Chandigarh Club-Sector 12, Sector 14, entire area around the lake up to 100 metres from the high water mark and the entire area North East of Uttar Marg, including Rock Garden and Lake Club.
Besides, ban has also been imposed on bursting crackers 100 metres near hospitals, education institution, courts and religious places. The order will come into force from zero hours on October 27 and will be in effect up to November 11.
