With just 20 days left for city residents to link their Aadhar cards with their bank accounts, the UT administration, in a move to assist city residents, has come up with an online facility.
Now, city residents can visit the administration's website chandigarh.gov.in and read details of their LPG dealer, and also get information on how to link their Aadhar card with their bank account.
Besides, the website also has the form for getting subsidy on LPG cylinders and linking Aadhar card with bank account.
An official of the UT administration said, "Those who do not link their Aadhar cards to their bank accounts by January 31 will not be able to get the subsidy on domestic LPG."
Meanwhile, the website also mentions that if a consumer has not received the Aadhar card can use the receipt issued for linking it with their bank accounts for availing the subsidy.
Meanwhile, the rush for linking Aadhar card has increased manifold. Ashok Bhatia of Bhatia Gas Agency said, "About 60 per cent of our consumers have got their Aadhar cards linked. Every day, many people are coming forward for it, as those who do not link their Aadhar card to their bank account will have to pay Rs 1,270 after the January 31 deadline. Those whose cards will be linked will get the `830 subsidy credited to their bank accounts."
