The court of sessions judge RK Sondhi on Thursday held an employee of Agriculture Marketing Board guilty of murdering his colleague.

His colleague Jatinder Kumar, 35, was found dead on May 26, 2013.

He had gone to get a Bolero jeep of the board repaired. However, he was found dead in Sector 15, Panchkula, with the Bolero jeep parked next to him.

The police did not register any first information report (FIR) in the case at that time but sent the viscera to Forensic Science Laboratory, Madhuban, Karnal.

The laboratory’s report confirmed that injuries to his private parts were the cause of his death.

On February 26 this year, the police registered a case of murder against unknown persons.

On March 14, 2014, the police arrested Ram Kishan.

The police submitted before the court there was enmity between Jatinder Kumar and Ram Kishan.

Kishan had told the police earlier that the deceased had kept an eye on his wife, which had made Kishan develop bitter feelings towards Jatinder.

Police sources said on May 26, 2013, Jatinder and Kishan were travelling in the board’s Bolero.

They got into a fight and Kishan started assaulting Jaitnder inside the jeep, police said.

Jatinder stopped the vehicle and tried to escape but Kishan followed him and hit him with bricks,
resulting in his death.

The court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on Friday.
