AIPMT: Four from tricity make it to top 100 for admissions in MBBS

Four students from the tricity have made it to the top 100 in the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) this year for admissions to MBBS course across the country.

Panchkula's Sanchit Gupta bagged all-India rank 10 and has topped in the tricity. Kashish Garg, a resident of Chandigarh, secured the second position in the tricity with all-India rank of 15 followed by Akshita Gupta of Sector 33, Chandigarh, with all-India rank of 28. Akshita hails from Ambala but was residing in Chandigarh to complete her schooling. Another Ambala resident, who completed his schooling from Chandigarh, secured all-India rank of 52 and stood fourth in the tricity.

Talking to HT, Sanchit, a student of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, who wants to join Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, believes in self-study. "Self-study is my mantra for success. I used to prepare a fresh schedule every day made sure that I stick to it."

Kashish, a resident of Sector 35, Chandigarh, did his schooling from DPS-40 and secured 15 position in the country. Belonging to a family with diverse professions, he decided to become a doctor. While his father Promod Gupta is a doctor, his mother works in an insurance company and brother is an engineer.

"I always wanted to become a doctor. I used to study for at least seven hours in a day. I want to be a successful cardiologist," he said.
Elevated over Kashish's success, DPS principal Reema Dewan said: "He is a focussed, sincere and consistent student. His hard work has paid."

Akshita, who secured all-India rank of 28, also bagged the 75th position in AIIMS results this year. A student of GMSSS-33, he wants to become a cardiologist. "I will either seek admission in a Delhi college or Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32." she said.
Ayush, who stood fourth in the tricity with an all-India rank of 52, said: "Candidates should not compromise with hard work."
The AIPMT was conducted across the country on July 25 amid tight security following the Supreme Court direction after it came to light that answer keys of the test held on May 3 were leaked.
