The local police declared the allegations of stalking and misbehaviour against Morni police-post incharge, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Rajinder Singh false, at a press conference held here on Wednesday.
Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Vijender Singh said the complaint moved by three polytechnic college students on Monday were found to be false. All the three students were staying as paying guests at Bahlon village, whose owner Mohit has been absconding after being booked for sexual harassment, the ACP said, adding that he and ACP Purnima Singh had investigated into the complaints and found them false.
"It was a ploy to put pressure on ASI Rajinder Singh as he was pursuing the sexual harassment case against Mohit. One Ishu has already been arrested in the case," Vijender said.
The first-year students at a polytechnic college in Bahlon village had given in writing that ASI Rajinder made obscene gestures and stalked them. They also accused him of standing at their college's gate and passing lewd remarks.
Another complaint moved by Bahlon villagers on Monday for shifting the ASI was also found to be false. The villagers alleged that the ASI intervened into their Lohri celebrations, abused them and also flashed his service revolver. They further complained that he threatened of framing them in false cases.
