The residents of Jalalana village in the district held a protest on Sunday against the ration dealers Jagsir Singh and Rajan Jain, who, they alleged, were indulging in the black marketing the government ration.

A large number of villagers reached at Odhan police station and raised slogan against district administration and food supply department. They also blocked the Kalanwali road for an hour.

They alleged that both of the ration depot dealers Jagsir Singh and Rajan Jain had been black marketing the government ration meant for economically backward families.

Sub-inspector Udayveer Singh of Odhan police station while trying to pacify the villagers said the issue was related to the police department. He then contacted Narender Sardana of food and supply department, took excuse of the transfer of the officer concerned.

Narender Singh later said that after receiving the complaint against the ration depot holders in Jalalana village, the department had sealed both of the depots and ordered an inquiry. "Due to the transfer of the food supply officer it will take a couple of days. The new officer will take charge on Tuesday and on Wednesday the inquiry team will conduct the investigation of the depots records and stocks," he added.
