Another CGC student killed in road mishap

Two days after three students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, were killed in a road mishap in Chandigarh, another student of the institute was killed in a road accident on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Jasbir Kaur, 18, while her friend Gurkirat Kaur, 17, sustained injuries.

The incident took place on Kharar-Banur road near Tangori village at 8 am, when an unidentified speeding truck rammed into the scooter the two were riding on.

Jasbir was pursuing her BBA, while Gurkirat is a BCA student. Both belonged to Rampur Kalan village in SAS Nagar.

As per the eyewitnesses, a speeding truck rammed into the stationary scooter from the rear. Jasbir fell on the road and got crushed under the tyres of the truck. Injured Gurkirat was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors stated her condition to be stable.

Randhir Singh, father of the injured girl, said that Jasbir was an intelligent girl and passionate about her studies.

A case has been registered against the unidentified driver under section 304 A (death due to negligence) of IPC and investigations are on.
