Another man arrested in Shiv Sena leader Harvinder Soni attack case

The police on Monday arrested another man Anurag alias Lalla, a resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh in Shiv Sena Punjab secretary Harvinder Soni attack case.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested Kashmir Singh (the prime accused) and his two accomplice Inderpal Singh and Gurjit Singh . All three accused were presented before the duty magistrate on Monday. They have been taken into piolice custody for two days.

Gurdaspur SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor said, "During the interrogation, Kashmir Singh has revealed that the illegal country made .315 bore pistol was procured along with cartridges from Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh with the help of Anurag alias Lalla who had met him at village Gadwali in Khanna where he was working as a labourer."

The SSP further said that Kashmir Singh also revealed that Anurag had accompanied him from Khanna to Moradabad in the month of March to procure the illegal weapon used for committing the crime.

Harvinder Soni was on the hit list of the Sikh hardliners since his alleged involvement in the beating up of two-three Sikh boys and tossing their turbans in Gurdaspur on March 28, 2012.

The alleged shooter Kashmir Singh was arrested within minutes after the incident.
