Ash-like romance

When Preity Zinta visited the city for the promotion of Ishkq in Paris recently, she was just about in time. But when the ‘stars’ of upcoming movie Cigarette Ki Tarah arrive two hours late, you are boumd to point out the difference between professionals and newbies.

In Chandigarh to promote Cigarette Ki Tarah, actors Bhoop Yaduvanshi and Madhurima Tuli get talking to HT City.

Bhoop Yaduvanshi
Model-turned-actor, Kanpur boy Bhoop (27) started off his career as a model during college. “Initially, I shifted to Delhi when I started getting modelling assignments. Four years ago, I moved to Mumbai and started doing theatre with Nadira Babbar. Then, I assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Saawariya. And finally, Cigarette Ki Tarah came my way, fortunately,” shares he.

About his role in the film, he says, “It’s a romantic thriller, the highlight of which is its off-beat romance, which has not been portrayed on Indian cinema yet. The movie also gives out a social message that people should quit smoking.”

After this, Bhoop claims he has three releases lined up for the upcoming year.

Madhurima Tuli
Thanking Ekta Kapoor for replacing her in Parichay (serial on Colors TV) after just two days of her shoot, Madhurima says, “I had to be replaced in the Balaji serial; had they not managed that, I wouldn’t have bagged the lead role in this movie. In fact, I also ended up shooting for an international film, Lethal Commission, after I left that serial. It was a short film, basically for YouTube.”

Former Miss Uttaranchal, Dehradun girl Madhurima gives us an insight into her background by saying, “I shifted to Mumbai five years ago just to follow my dream of becoming an actress. Since then, I have done advertisements for Godrej, Ponds and Yamaha, among others. I also played a cameo in the serial Kasturi (2007) on Star Plus. In 2008, I played the protagonist in the Telugu movie, Homam.”
