Almost a fortnight after a 58-year-old employee of Punjab tourism department was allegedly thrashed by the department’s driver, the victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Budh Raj, a Class-4 employee of Punjab tourism department, was allegedly assaulted by the department’s driver, Bhupinder Singh, at his office on August 6. He was under treatment at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) since.

In his complaint, the victim’s son, Ajay Kumar, resident of Sector 38, alleged that, “The driver attacked my father after a verbal dual, leaving him with serious injuries.”
