United Federation of Indian Journalists (UFIJ) and Haryana Union of Journalists (HUJ) have strongly condemned the police attack on some mediapersons in Kurukshetra when they were covering the clash between the HSGMC supporters and the police.

UFIJ president Ranvir Parashar and HUJ vice-president Vijay Mehta on behalf of the unions termed it as a blatant attack on the freedom of the Press and demanded immediate and strong action against the culprits.

"The fact that the incident took place when Kurukshetra deputy commissioner and SDM were not too far away from the spot show that the administration has no control over the police force," they said.
