Two days after attempts were made to outrage the modesty of a woman in a moving autorickshaw, the Sector-39 police on Wednesday arrested auto driver Naveen Kumar, 25, and his alleged accomplice Kamal Kumar, 24, near SAS Nagar opposite Palsora police post.

The duo had allegedly pushed a 26-year-old woman out of the auto following which she fractured an arm. Her purse was also looted when she resisted the attempt to outrage her modesty.

Sources said the arrest came after the woman's father called the Sector-39 police station staff upon noticing an auto similar to the one described by her daughter.

As cops rushed to the SAS Nagar barrier, they reportedly noticed the auto coming towards Chandigarh. The cops stopped it and called the woman there to identify the duo, which she did, and hence the men were arrested.

Both sides of the auto bore different numbers on the plates.
The woman had faced assault on Monday evening when she had boarded the auto near the roundabout dividing Sectors 36 and 37 to go to her house in SAS Nagar.
