Gurbachan Singh Babbehali, Punjab's chief parliamentary secretary, agriculture, on Friday resigned from the post of chairman of state cooperative milk producers' federation, Milkfed.
Babbehali told reporters here that he was unable to pay due attention towards Milkfed because of his busy schedule as CPS.
He has submitted his resignation to chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for approval.
Babbehali, elected as MLA from Gurdaspur constituency twice, was at the top post of Milkfed for the last 17 years. He also holds the post of director, National Dairy Development Board.
With the resignation from the post of chairman, he would automatically be relinquished from the duties of director, NDDB, he added.
