Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday assured full support to Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna and said the Punjab government was with the calamity-stricken people of the state and would extend help in rehabilitation and reconstruction.
Badal said the Punjab government was committed to extending a helping hand to the people of Uttarakhand in this hour of crisis and despair.
Badal told Bahuguna that the state government would give Rs 10 crore for the reconstruction of all religious shrines, including Kedarnath Temple and Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib.
The CM said the state government would send a consignment of 10,000 tonnes of flour and rice, 100 tonnes of sugar and 10,000 blankets on July 9 for flood victims across the hill state.
On the request of Bahuguna, the CM agreed to send 10,000 woollens, sweaters and pullovers for the victims, besides the delivery of milk powder in the region. Badal also offered support to the Uttarakhand government for the reconstruction of the serai at Gobind Ghat.
