Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday offered all support and cooperation to Indian-origin US-based cancer experts Dr Inderbir Gill and Dr Parkash Gill for setting up a research centre for a new cancer drug development and manufacture facility in the state. The two doctors who met the CM were accompanied by cabinet minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon.
The doctors assured the CM that they were committed to build a world-class cancer drug development and genetic testing facility in Punjab as they had a long experience in the field.
The CM asked the doctors to hold a training programme for doctors and paramedics in cancer therapy from Punjab in the US so as to familiarise them with the latest technology. The doctors assured Badal that they would soon chalk out a detailed programme for a special training module in Los Angeles for doctors and nurses from Punjab.
