Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, along with deputy CM Sukhbir Badal and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, attended the swearing-in ceremony of Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhra Raje in Jaipur on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, Badal said, "The brave people of Rajasthan have laid the foundation for the next NDA government by handing over the Congress an embarrassing defeat in the assembly elections. Now, the political extinction of the anti-poor Congress is imminent."

In an informal interaction with the media later, Badal said the way the people of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi had shown the door to the Congress strongly indicated the BJP wave across the country.

Sukhbir appealed to the masses across the nation to join hands to "save the country from the clutches of Congress and its allies to bring it back on the track of development and economic growth under the NDA regime," a spokesman said here.
