Congress ideology and policies are always focused on development and the party believes in going beyond promises made to the people, said Pawan Bansal, party candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, while addressing Attawa villagers here on Wednesday.
Bansal said, "In Chandigarh, there has been development in every sphere and one can see the pace of progress which has been tremendous. The credit goes to the Congress, and the voter before exercising his right to vote will keep that in mind."
He also spoke about several schemes launched by the government for the welfare of villages across the country.
While referring to BJP candidate Kirron Kher, he said the party had fielded a candidate who does neo even know about Chandigarh and its issues.
He also apprised the villagers about various development works in the past 15 years, when people had full faith in him and re-elected him for the same reason.
While speaking on the occasion, village sarpanch Gurdeep Singh said all villagers were with Bansal and appealed to them to make other villagers aware of the Congress' achievements.
Addressing another public meeting in Buterla village, Bansal got a rousing welcome with the beating of drums and garlands.
Village sarpanch Gurmukh Singh lauded the works done in villages by Bansal and appealed to the villagers to vote for the Congress.
