Local Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal on Sunday assured the residents of Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) that their demand for allowing need-based changes would be taken up with the UT administration.
Addressing a meeting of the joint action committee of the CHB residents in Sector 40, he said in the past also it was allowed and he would take it up with the administration again.
Bansal also visited Ramdarbar colony in Industrial Area-2 where he addressed the residents of the rehabilitation colony.
In the evening, he addressed a public meeting in Sector-25 rehabilitation colony where he assured the residents that 8,000 of 25,000 houses would be handed over to the beneficiaries next month.
Bansal further said while commercial activities for some trades had already been allowed in the rehabilitation colonies, any other demands concerning amenities being provided would be adequately looked into by him.
