Haryana Backward Classes Commission Chairman Justice KC Gupta (retd) said on Friday that the body, which was going into the demands of various castes for reservation, would soon submit its report to the state government.
The Commission heard indivuduals and groups, and their representatives regarding their claims for and against inclusion or exclusion or objections submitted with respect to various castes in the
list of Backward Classes at Rewari.
He said that the decision on reservation demanded by various castes would be taken on the basis of economic and educational factors.
Justice Gupta said that a special campaign had been launched to cover all the districts in the state.
There was provision of 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes. Any person hailing from the state and of any caste could give his suggestions to the Commission. He said that the Backward Classes in the state had been divided into Classes A and B.
He said that apart from the representatives of castes hailing from district Rewari, those of other neigbouring districts had also come to submit their representations.
Other members of the Commission, including Telu Ram Jangra, Arjun Dev Gulati, Rao Ranpal, Som Dutt, Dr Jai Singh Bishnoi and secretary SK Setia were also present.
