Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be more inclusive in talking to the people of the country and addressing the nation on festivals of all religions.
Referring to Modi’s radio address to the nation on the occasion of Dussehra, Amarinder said it was good that the PM chose the sacred occasion to address the nation that marks the victory of good over evil.
“I hope he addresses the nation similarly on festivals such as Eid, Gurpurab and Christmas,” he remarked, adding that such a practice would convey the real message to all countrymen that they were equally cared about.
He expressed the hope that the prime minister would also address the nation on the occasion of Eid, which is just three days away.
Amarinder pointed out that Modi was yet to address a press conference since becoming the PM.
