Navneet Joshi, a close associate of late satirist Jaspal Bhatti, succumbed to his injuries at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital here on Monday morning after battling for life for more than 18 days.

Joshi had sustained serious injuries in the road mishap which claimed Bhatti's life on October 25. Bhatti's son Jasraj Bhatti was driving a car when it crashed into a tree on the national highway near Shahkot (Jalandhar) in the wee hours.

Jasraj had been discharged from DMCH a few hours after the accident, while actress Surilie Gautam had been operated upon and later discharged. Jasraj and Surilie figure in Bhatti's swansong, Punjabi movie Power Cut.

Joshi had been on life support system since October 25. Dr Sandeep Puri, medical superintendent, DMCH, said Joshi had suffered multi-organ failure.
