Bhiwani fake encounter: Four cops sentenced for life

In a case of fake encounter, a local court of additional district and session judge Sarita Gupta on Sunday evening sentenced four policemen for life in prison along with the fine of Rs 50,000 each for allegedly shooting a youth dead.

In a case of fake encounter, a local court of additional district and session judge Sarita Gupta on Sunday evening sentenced four policemen for life in prison along with the fine of Rs 50,000 each for allegedly shooting a youth dead.


During the hearing of a 2008 case, the court found Executive assistant sub-inspector (EASI) Ram Kumar, Executive head-constable (EHC) Ramfal and constable Karambir and Balram guilty of killing victim Kuldeep Singh, when he was riding on bike along with his brother Vikas and friend Hukum Singh.

The victim was returning home after attending a Kuan Pujan, a traditional function after boy's birth from village Dhani Harsukh.

The verdict was based on the Hukum Singh.

In the late night incident of Nov 3, 2008 the police gupsy of Hansi police station house office ride by the culprits halted the way of victim and started firing in which the Kuldeep lost his life on the spot following the run of policemen.

The policemen encountered only after the tip-off that a wanted criminal in a case of loot would travel to Bhiwani by the bike.

After the incident Bhiwani district also faced the ire of the residents causing agitation which forced the district police to depute extra police from nearby districts.
