Two aides of international drug lord Jagdish Singh alias Bhola were produced in the local district courts on Friday in connection with cases registered against them in Patiala and Kapurthala districts under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The court has sent them to three-day police remand.
Maninder Singh alias Bittu Aulakh was arrested on November 15 and a case was registered against him at Patiala, while Paramjeet Singh Pamma was booked last year for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore-drug racket and is lodged in the Kapurthala jail.
The Banur police brought both on production warrants in connection with a case registered at the Banur police station on June 15 under the NDPS Act against Bhola and others.
Judicial magistrate IS Dhillon sent both accused to three-day police remand, even though the police demanded seven days' police custody to recover drugs from Mumbai, where the accused have allegedly kept the same.
On November 15, the police had recovered 1kg ICE (M-amphetamine) powder from Aulakh. Pamma is said to be the main supplier of drugs in stolen vehicles in various parts of the country.
