The Haryana Housing Board (HHB) has invited applications to allot 142 independent built-up houses at Sisoth village near Mahendergarh. The aim is to provide affordable houses with good facilities in rural areas.

An HHB spokesperson said residents of Sisoth are eligible for the houses. They will be allotted on a hire-purchase basis. At least 59 houses are type-1, 37 are type-2 and 46 are type-3. The 'types' are used by the government to differentiate among quality and utility of buildings. According to property experts, prospective buyers should understand what each type consists of before applying for the allotments.

The spokesperson said the houses have earthquake resistant design and are built with strong material.

Other features include lush green surroundings, wide roads, parks, and shopping and community centres.

Bookings will start on April 11 and end on May 10. Applications are available at HHB, Panchkula; executive engineer, HHB, Gurgaon; estate manager, HHB, Rewari, and extension counter, tehsil office, Mahendergarh.
