Bills passed for three new universities

The Haryana assembly on Monday paved the way to set up three universities at Bhiwani, Jind and Rohtak by passing separate bills. The House passed the Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Bill for establishing a teaching-cum-affiliating university. Earlier, an ordinance was promulgated in this regard. The Bhiwani university will facilitate higher education in multi disciplines with special emphasis on sports and physical education.

The assembly also passed the Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Bill for establishing and incorporating a teaching-cum-affiliating university at Jind, The University which is named after the late father of Haryana chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda will facilitate and promote higher education with special emphasis on emerging areas of information technology and computer education, commerce, humanities, management studies.

The assembly passed the Haryana State University of Performing and Visual Arts, Rohtak, Bill2014 to upgrade the integrated campus of government technical institution society, Rohtak. The campus has four institutes — State Institute of Fine Arts, State Institute of Design, State Institute of Film and Television and State Institute of Urban Planning and Architecture.
