Around 34 suspected patients of bird flu were examined at Government Multispecialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, on Tuesday. However, no one showed any symptom of the bird flu.

Dr VK Gagneja, director, UT health services, said the health department teams were constantly monitoring suspected cases of the bird flu.

He added a separate flu screening area had already been set up at the GMSH to refer suspected out-patient department (OPD) patients for the tests.

The screening area was set up after some people approached the hospital authorities regarding this owing to the fear of the flue spread among them.

Around 55 staff members of the Lake Club were also examined by the special teams formed to check the flu spread. However, none of them showed any symptom of bird flu, and discharged after the check-up.
