Brother of BJP nominee Satya Pal Jain from Chandigarh constituency today died of a heart attack while tracking the results of the Lok Sabha elections, which Pal lost for the third time in a row, family sources said in Chandigarh.
Satya Bhushan Jain was following the trends since morning and by 1100 hrs it was clear that his brother, Pal, has lost the elections for the third time in a row.
It was then that the 62-year-old suffered a heart attack and was taken to a hospital at Mohali where he was declared brought dead, sources said.
Pal unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election from here for the third time losing to Congress's Pawan Kumar Bansal, who made a hat trick.
Bansal retained the seat defeating Jain by a margin of 57,967 votes. In the 2004 Lok Sabha election Bansal had defeated Jain by 45,248 votes.
