The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of forgetting the election promised made to farmers.
It has even said that these BJP announcements were election gimmicks. “Before assuming power, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised to improve the condition of farmers by implementing the Swaminathan Commission report, end the hoarding of urea, and pay remunerative prices to the cultivators,” INLD parliamentarian Dushyant Chautala said on Sunday, while addressing farmers at Kharak Punia village near here. He said farmers had to sell cotton and rice for the lowest price in eight years and run from pillar to post to get urea for their withering crops.
“They are fighting the police to get their due, while hoarders are selling urea on the black market. We as opposition will not sit silent. We will pressurise the government to fulfil the demands of farmers,” Dushyant further said.
