Infighting in the Chandigarh BJP has again come to the fore, as a section of party leaders held a meeting on Friday to plan a protest against the functioning of party unit president Sanjay Tandon.

The disgruntled leaders said that they would hold a 'dharna' outside BJP office on Monday. These members are said to have written a letter to Chandigarh BJP president and alleged lack of transparency in the functioning of the party leadership.

These party leaders, including some office-bearers, former presidents and former mayors, threatened to sit on hunger strike at the party office if the voters list for the ongoing intra-party election was not made public.

The letter, a copy of which has been sent to senior leaders and incharge of BJP affairs, claimed that the ongoing process of internal election was not transparent.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders refused to come on record on the issue. When contacted, Sanjay Tandon said, "Disciplinary action will be taken against individuals who don't maintain party decorum. No one has come to me or written me a letter with all these allegations. If people have a problem, they should come forward and speak. I have learnt that there are few persons who are going around forcing people to sign the letter containing charges against me."
