The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would hold a two-day national level Kisan Morcha meeting at Bahadurgarh on June 7 and 8.
Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh would inaugurate the event, while several key farmer leaders have been invited from all over country to prepare a report on making agriculture a profitable venture.
Om Prakash Dhankar, national president of party's Kisan Morcha, said that the event would be marked by discussions on the problems being faced by farmers throughout the country. He said that the meeting would focus on implementation of MS Swaminathan Commission report at the earliest.
He said that while in opposition they had been voicing the concerns of the peasantry class, but now being the ruling party, it was time to deliver.
Notably, with an aim to draw mileage, state BJP has promised to get the Swaminathan report implemented before the agrarian state faces assembly polls in October.
