To protest against corrupt practises of the UPA government at the centre, local wing of Bharatiya Janata Party will start its 'jail bharo andolan” in Chandigarh on June 23.
BJP, Chandigarh, incharge Aarti Mehra informed this at the party office in Sector 33 while addressing mediapersons on Friday.
She said: “The andolan was earlier scheduled to take place on June 2 but was postponed due to the naxalite violence in Chattisgarh. People in the country are fed up with the corruption of the Congress-led UPA government.”
She disclosed that she would also hold a meeting of state executives up to mandal level on June 30 to take stock of ground realities for the forthcoming Parliament elections.
She emphasised that the party would take all workers with it and if anybody had any grouse it would be addressed too.
She appreciated the work done by the Pawan Kumar Bansal Scam Exposure Committee of the BJP with regards to CBI inquiry in the Railgate scam and financial irregularities committed by the firms owned by former railway minister and his family.
State BJP chief Sanjay Tandon, former member Parliament Satya Pal Jain and former union minister Harmohan Dhawan were also present on the occasion.
