The bomb hoax at Advanced Trauma Centre of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh brought everything to halt on Wednesday afternoon.

The sources at the PGIMER revealed that the entire hoax started around 2.45 pm when a ward boy posted at the Trauma Centre found two bikes parked just close to the main entrance of the centre, which is a no parking zone. He along with a staff nurse informed the doctor and the information was given to the police.

Soon after along with senior police officials a bomb disposal squad of Chandigarh police reached the spot and carried out a thorough investigation in trauma centre as well as Emergency. The security sources in the PGIMER informed that around 4.15 pm it was found that it was just a hoax.

However hoax caused an inconvenience to the patients as well as to the attendants as police stopped the entry to the trauma centre. The situation remained under control as the hoax couldn’t become a mass rumor. The sources said that a thorough investigation will be carried out to rule out any mischief behind it.
