Book on critical care nursing released

Clinical Neurosciences a nd Critical Care Nursing, a book edited by Sukhpal Kaur, a lecturer at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research’s ( PGIMER ) National Institute of Nursing Education, was released on Tuesday.

The book, which was co-authored by Sector-16 Gover nment Multi Specialty Hospital ( GMSH ) medical officer Dr Manjeet Singh , was released by PGI MER’s medical superintendent AK Gupta.

Eminent nursing and medical faculty from across the country have contributed to the book, the contents of which are elaborated in 30 chapters, including care of the patient on ventilator; role of nurse in acute stroke management; care of patients with incontinence, bladder training, catheterisation; nursing management of brain dead organ donors; standard safety measures; documentation in ICU; care of the caregivers of the patients admitted in ICU, and ECG recording and interpretation.The book targets nursing faculty, the post graduate and underg raduate nursing students as well as nurses employed in various hospitals and medical centres.
