A seven-year-old boy was killed while a three-year-old girl was injured after a house wall collapsed on them at Badmajra near Dara Studio in SAS Nagar on Saturday.

The victims have been identified as Prince, son of Chanu Ram, and Kinjan, daughter of Arvind. Parents of both victims are labourers and natives of Bihar.

As per information, both of them were returning to their homes from school when the incident took place.

Police said a house wall collapsed all of sudden when both were on their way to home. Following the incident, both sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the civil hospital at Phase 6 in SAS Nagar, from where they were referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

While Prince was declared brought dead at the PGIMER, Kinjan is stated to be in a serious condition.

The police said the side wall of the terrace, constructed with iron grills, on the first floor of the house collapsed all of a sudden.

House owner Rupa Chand was also present in the house when the incident took place.

Children playing nearby raised the alarm, following which residents came to rescue the children who were lying in a pool of blood.

However, the police have not registered a case against anyone.
