Businessman attacked, robbed near Rupnagar

Two unidentified car-borne persons in police uniforms robbed a petrol pump company director of lakhs of rupees near Bann Majra village, about 15 kilometre from here, on Friday. Though the victim claimed that the robbers took away Rs 11.50 lakh, the police said that it was the loss of Rs 6 lakh.

Two unidentified car-borne persons in police uniforms robbed a petrol pump company director of lakhs of rupees near Bann Majra village, about 15 kilometre from here, on Friday.

Though the victim claimed that the robbers took away Rs 11.50 lakh, the police said that it was the loss of Rs 6 lakh.

Ravinder Pal Singh, director of Daljit and Daljit Company, was going to Chandigarh in his car (CH04K6027) at 3.30 pm after collecting cash from the petrol pump.

D Harpreet Sabharwal, a relative of the victim, said two person in police uniform, overtook Ravinder’s vehicle near Bann Majra village and forced him to stop. A scuffle took place.
