Police have registered cases against all nine shops, including five eateries involving Pal Dhaba, for allegedly using domestic cylinders for the commercial purpose. Around 30 domestic cylinders were recovered during a drive on Saturday.
All offenders have been booked under Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act. The owners of these shops and eatery owners were arrested on Sunday but later bailed out.
Police said out of total nine cases, two were registered against the owners of Pal Dhaba- Pritpal Singh and Maninder Singh- in Sector 28 in two separate cases after ten domestic cylinders were recovered from their two outlets.
Similarly, three domestic cylenders were recovered from Panipat Sweets in Sector 24. Police also registered a case against shop owner Anil Kumar.
Meanwhile, five domestic cylinders were recovered from Bhatia Food Counter in Sector 28; three from Shiva Vaishno Dhaba, Mini Market, Sector 11, and Kale Da Dhaba, Sector 11; two LPG cylinders from an eatery, Deva, in Sector 21; and three from an eatery in Sector 21.
Police said the drive was conducted along with the officials of the UT food and supply department.
