UT police and administration were on Thursday urged to transfer the investigation of a missing PU employee from the police to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Panjab University (PU) employee Mahavir Singh went missing on May 7. However, the police have not been able to make any headway in the case, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Satya Pal Jain said in a representation to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Naunihal Singh.

The police case regarding the disappearance of Mahavir Singh, an Uttrakhand native, was registered on the day he went missing. Jain told the SSP that Mahavir's entire family was in a state of shock since and worried about Mahavir's safety.

Jain said that since no substantial progress had been made in the case despite passage of 3 weeks, it was time the investigation was transferred to the CBI or crime branch.
