If you have a vehicle registered under the CH-01AL series, it’s time to get a High Security Re gistration Plate (HSRP) affixed right away, as the deadline of HSRP affixation for the series ends on April 30.

According to sources in the RLA, the department is not likely to extend the deadline for the AL series, and will initiate the process for challaning vehicle owners without HSRP soon after the deadline. “We opened registration of the AL series on April 1, and gave a month’s time for residents to affix HSRPs. Those who have not yet affixed them must act quickly since challaning is likely to start by the first week of May,” said an RLA official, adding that RLA was under pressure to affix HSRPs on all existing vehicles within two years.

“In the future, we are likely to open the HSRP affixation facility in several locations to open multiple series together, instead of one series per month,” the official added.

Every series has 9,999 vehicles, and at present, residents are affixing HSRPs at the RLA offices in Sector 17, and two of its sub offices in Sector 42 and Industrial Area. Sources said there was still a huge pendency in the new AL series, therefore, residents must come forward to affix HSRPs at the earliest.
