After nearly one month of moving court for anticipatory bail, four aides of a city based lawyer withdrew their applications on Saturday. The lawyer has been under the scanner of enforcement directorate on money laundering allegations.

The four aides, which include Ajay Singh, a clerk of advocate Mukesh Mittal; Praveen Kumar, his munshi; Lal Chand, his driver and advocate Ashok Kanwal (who is also appearing on behalf of Lal Chand), had filed applications for anticipatory bails on January 2.

The bail applications have now been withdrawn citing a similar plea pending before the Punjab and Haryana high court that will come up for hearing on March 3.

"A similar matter is pending in the Punjab and Haryana high court. And because we are seeking similar relief, we have withdrawn the anticipatory bail applications," said advocate Terminder Singh representing Mittal's aides.

The ED had raided the houses of city based lawyer Mukesh Mittal, his aides on January 14 as part of a money laundering probe.
