Two students were injured in DAV College, sector 10, when a clash occurred between two groups of students over the upcoming student elections.

The injured have been identified as Sachin Nehra, a supporter of Haryana Student Association (HSA) while the other is an Indian National Student Organisation (INSO) supporter, Pardeep Singh. Nehra was allegedly stabbed by a rival group and was subsequently admitted to PGIMER while Pardeep Singh was admitted to GMSH, sector 16.

As per the police, supporters of HSA and INSO entered into heated arguments over garnering support of fresh students. Thereafter, HSA supporters asked INSO supporters not to threaten the freshers who were supporting their party. Following that a fight ensued outside the college auditorium and one of the students stabbed Nehra.

The police added that they recovered broken flower pots from the spot and were trying to procure CCTV camera footage to identify the accused.
