City got heavy rain showers on Tuesday. More rain will follow over the next three days, said the Chandigarh Metrological Centre on Tuesday.
According to the Metrological Centre, 10.6 mm rain was recorded at the metrological centre in Sector 38. However, the rain was much heavier in the other centre located at the Chandigarh airport, where 28 mm rain was recorded.
Even on Monday, the areas around airport witnessed rain showers with 10 mm rain, but there were no rain showers in areas around the Chandigarh Metrological Centre.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 32.5 degree Celsius, which is on a par with the the normal temperature. Similarly, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.9 degree Celsius, which is four notches above normal temperature.
The Met centre said there will be generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers. "Light to moderate rain thundershowers may occur at a few places during next 12 hours, isolated places during subsequent 48 hours and at a few places thereafter in Haryana and Punjab," the centre observed.
