The Chandigarh-Indore weekly express train will chug off from the railway station here at 7.10pm on Friday. According to information with Chandigarh railway station officials, in all there are 100 bookings for the first trip. This train was announced during the last rail budget.
Speaking to HT, station superintendent RK Dutta said, "We have received a good response and the train is expected to be a hit especially among the army jawans, as many in city are from the Agra, Ujjain and Indore region."
The train will cover Dewas, Ujjain, Maksi, Shajapur, Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Agra, Mathura, Faridabad, Delhi, Nizamudddin and Chandigarh stations.
It will depart from Chandigarh on every Fridays at 7.10pm and reach Indore at 5.35pm the next day. The train after departing from city station will reach Delhi at 11.15pm, Nizamudddin at 12.15am, Agra Central at 2.40am, Gwalior at 4.45am, Ujjain at 2.50pm and finally Indore at 5.35pm. The train is a 3-tier AC coach.
