All four missionary schools in the city ---- Carmel Convent School, Sector 9; Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26; St John’s High School, Sector 26; and St Anne’s Convent School in Sector 32 ---- will display the list of eligible candidates for entry-level admissions for the 2015-16 session on December 30, whereas other schools will display their lists on December 24 (Wednesday).

Most schools will hold a draw of lots and all schools have to display the list of selected students and the list carrying the names of students-in-waiting between January 10 and 28.

The final list and the waitlist have to be displayed on January 28, with schools accepting the fee from February 1-20.

“We are not bound to adhere to the conditions of the education department. We will display the list on December 30. We close on Christmas and thus, we have decided to reveal the names after the festival. We will float our draws on January 17,” said a teacher at St John’s High School.

“I want to get admission for my child at St John’s and so, I will have to wait for long. I have filled the forms of few other schools as well, but I will still be keen to know the status of admission in convent schools,” said Parveen Kumar, a resident of Sector 8, Chandigarh.

These convent schools have received the most number of forms.

With around 1,800 forms, St Anne's has received the most number of forms for its 225 seats. Carmel Convent and Sacred Heart received over a 1,000 forms each for 120 and 200 seats, respectively, with St John's receiving over a 1,000 forms for 160 seats.

Other private schools like Bhavan Vidyalaya in Sector 33 received 1,500 forms for 100 seats, while Vivek High School, Sector 38, received 850 forms for only 95 seats and Gurukul Global School, Manimajra, received over 600 forms for 54 seats.
