On Thursday, the first e-registration certificate was handed over to Swarnjeet Kaur, proprietor of RS Polymers, Industrial Area-2, Chandigarh, by SB Deepak Kumar, deputy commissioner-cum-excise and taxation commissioner, UT.
During the ceremony, TPS Phoolka, additional excise and taxation commissioner, and Munish Nayyar, ETO (computerisation) were also present.
While handing over the certificate, Deepak welcomed the launch of various e-governance initiatives such as e-refunds, e-grievances on the dedicated departmental website under the domain name etdut.gov.in.
"These e-services will bring transparency in the functioning of the department besides reducing the leg work for the stakeholders," he said.
He added other services such as e-forms and e-payments under the e-governance initiative by the UT would be launched soon.
