Several students in tricity schools have secured above 90% marks in the CBSE’s Class-12 exams, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.
With 67% of its students scoring above 90% marks, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, topped in the tricity.
Of the total 191 students - 91 boys and 100 girls - who had appeared for the exams, 128 students scored above 90%. The school performed exceptionally well in commerce stream.
Besides a tricity topper, of the total 114 commerce students 82 scored above 90% marks. “With such performance level, our school has maintained its supremacy over commerce stream in the tri city, ” said Anuradha Bhatia, officiating principal of the school.
In tricity, of total 20,719 students who appeared for t he exams nearly 1,000 scored above 90%. Of nearly 200 students, who scored above 95% in the tricity, 44 are from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27.
With 50% of its students scoring above 90% marks, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, secured second position in the tricity.
School’s spokesperson Anju Mehta said of 152 students appeared for the exam, 76 scored above 90%.
Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School, Sector 9, secured third position with 48% of its students scoring 90% and above.
School officials said of 150 Class-12 students, 72 scored above 90% marks, 30 alone in commerce, 27 in humanities and rest in medical and non-medical streams.
In Delhi Public School, with 44.35% (55 of 124) of its students scoring above 90%, nearly 11 students of the school scored above 95% marks.
With 41 of the total 104 candidates (39.42%) scoring above 90% marks, Vivek High school secured fifth position in the tricity.
“Class-12 is really the benchmark of academic excell ence for both students and schools.
I am happy that our students performed well both in Class-10 and Class-12, said HS Mamik, director of Vivek High School, Sector 38, said.
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, has 37.5% (30 of 80) students scoring above 90% marks.
PML SD School, Sector 32, has 132 of 578 students getting over 90% marks besides 20 students scoring 95% marks.
GOVT SCHOOLS TOO HAVE THEIR SHARE OF GLORY
Government Model Senior Secondary School, Manimajra, has shown excellent results with 56 of 218 students scoring above 90% marks while GMSSS-16 had 110 of 508 students securing above 90% marks.
KV-47, who produced tricity topper this year, had 19 of 159 students with above 90% marks, while KBDAV-7 had 23 of 106 students with above 90% and St Anne’s, Sector 32, had 20 students of total of 73 securing above 90%.
In St John’s High School, Sector 26, a total of 84 students appeared, 22 students scored more than 90% marks.
Among other schools, Ryan School-49, GNPS-36 and Satluj had 19, 15 and 11 students with above 90% marks.
