Chandigarh: Weekly train from city to Varanasi to be extended

With an aim to tackle passenger rush, the Railways department has decided to extend the weekly special train from Chandigarh to Varanasi from July 16 to August 27. The train will depart for Varanasi from Chandigarh at 11:15pm every Thursday.

Apart from this, it has also been decided to extend the weekly special between Nangal Dam and Lucknow via Chandigarh till August 27. The superfast train will depart from Nangal at 11:45pm every Monday and reach Chandigarh at 2:15am on Tuesday to depart for Lucknow at 2:20am.

Trains from Amritsar cancelled

The Amritsar-Chandigarh and the Amritsar-Nangal Dam Express trains have been cancelled from July 10 to 29 as the railways department is carrying out the non-interlocking work and overhauling of cabins at the Amritsar railway station.
